Kelly McGolpin becomes Head of Development

Taking up the role with immediate effect, BAFTA award-nominated McGolpin who joined Objective in 2015 as a producer, will spearhead the comedy development of Ben Farrell’s Objective Media Group narrative label, focusing on bringing new talent to the fold and working alongside Head of Scripted Hannah Mackay.

Since joining the label McGolpin has produced the Ryan Shelton fronted Blaps How to Life for Channel 4 which were created alongside Princess Pictures and Radio Karate. Most recently she has produced the Emma Sidi scripted comedy short for Sky, which will air later this month as part of the Sky Arts Summer Season of Comedy Shorts.

Prior to Objective Fiction Kelly worked in scripted comedy development at Retort, developing and producing the critically acclaimed and multi-award winning series Chewing Gum for E4. Before joining Retort she was in the scripted comedy team at the BBC before working as producer at Angel Eye, Avalon, Eleven Film, Eyeworks and also Southern Star in Australia.

McGolpin said, “I am thrilled to be taking on the role of Head of Development at Objective Fiction. It is such an exciting time to be creating television right now. Objective Fiction, which Farrell launched in January 2016, specialises in original scripted content. Its present and historic productions include Roisin Conaty’s forthcoming self-penned series GameFace for E4, the recently re-commissioned acclaimed BBC Three series Witless, as well as Reggie Perrin for BBC One, The Peter Serafinowicz Show for BBC Two and Pete Versus Life for Channel 4,

Farrell added, “I’m delighted Kelly’s agreed to step up and lead comedy development at Objective Fiction. Alongside Hannah overseeing both comedy and drama and Charlotte Lewis producing such strong shows for us currently, I really feel like we have a dream team in place.”
