Feel Good trailer

Stand-up comedian Mae (Martin) is stuck in a rut: she’s single, in recovery from a drug addiction and sleeping on a friend’s sofa. The jokes may be landing, but her life isn’t. When she meets the magnetic but previously heterosexual George (Ritchie), it doesn’t seem possible that George could be interested in her: George is like Princess Diana, while Mae resembles a kernel of corn… Nevertheless, the pair embark on a whirlwind romance, moving in together and triggering events that will change both their lives forever. Starring Mae Martin, Charlotte Ritchie, Lisa Kudrow and Sophie Thompson. Writers: Mae Martin, Joe Hampson; Dir: Ally Pankiw; Prod: Kelly McGolpin; Exec Prods: Ben Farrell, Ally Pankiw, Hannah Mackay, Toby Stevens; Prod Co: Objective Fiction out of Objective Media Group Scotland

Feel Good should make you feel good. It’s not only an immaculately written and paced piece of work and a properly funny comedy, it is also has created a delicately and intricately constructed, deeply humane world where people make mistakes but are not damned, and have flaws that are not fatal, and – despite all the obstacles – connect across and despite their divides. It is good for almost everything that ails us... FIVE STARS
